Matthew Perkins-McVey is Assistant Professor for the History and Philosophy of Science and Medicine in the Department of the Humanities and Arts at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology. He holds an Interdisciplinary PhD in the History and Philosophy of Science, Germanistik, and Psychology/Neuroscience from Dalhousie University. His work centres on conditions of possibility in the history of science, the history of the philosophy of science, historical epistemology, the epistemic significance of intoxication in experimental science, the philosophical implications of modern pharmacy, category formation in psychiatric nosology, and the history of medicine. His book "Intoxicated Ways of Knowing" is available at University of Chicago Press.
