Embedded Ethics
About 2022- Today
The aim of this program is to develop ethical thinking and sensitivity within the context of engineers’ core technological training. The project is based on a close cooperation between an instructor of a technological course and an instructor from the department of humanities.
The instructors meet and, in collaboration with our team, develop the particular themes and issues relevant to the course. In this way, we embed relevant ethical issues in the course and assimilate ethical thinking and sensitivity into the engineers’ core training. The upshot is that such ingrained training in ethical thinking will come part and parcel of the engineers’ standard tool box. Through the embedded ethics program we seek to encourage Technion graduates not only to learn how to develop new technologies but also to consider which technologies (and for what purpose) are worth developing.
