Call for Postdoc position
Postdoc Position in Early Modern Philosophy and Science at Technion – Israel Institute of Technology
Start: January 2024 or earlier
Duration: 1 year (with an option for extension)
Applications are invited for a full-time postdoctoral position at the Humanities & Arts department at Technion, Israel institute of technology. The successful candidate will become part of the early modern philosophy and science workgroup supervised by Prof. Ohad Nachtomy, and conduct independent and collaborative research.
The goal of the new workgroup is to conduct cutting-edge research in history of philosophy and science and philosophy at the early modern period, and to foster interdisciplinary collaborations that link the humanities to science and technology. Some preference will be given to scholars working on Leibniz or Spinoza but the research topic is open. Teaching is welcome but optional.
The applicant is required to have a PhD in either philosophy, history, or history of science, awarded or close to completion. Ability and desire to conduct independent research are essential; a publication record in a pertinent field is highly desireble.
Pay: $30,000 per year
