Body Spirit Connection

In the midst of ongoing conflict in Israel, the Physical Education Unit has played a pivotal role in the “Back on Track” initiative. This program, launched by the Dean of Students, was designed to bolster student well-being upon their return to campus ahead of the semester. Our physical education teachers hosted a diverse range of practical classes that catered to varying skill levels and interests. Options included Pilates, stretching and relaxation techniques, functional training, and yoga, amongst others. Furthermore, enlightening theoretical lectures on emotional nutrition and mindfulness were also made available.

 

Parallel to this, the onset of the new semester marked the commencement of a unique program dedicated to promoting relaxation, breathwork, and movement. The goal of this initiative is to leverage small group sessions to mitigate student stress and tension through focused physical activities. Spearheaded by Elky Kassif, a member of the Physical Education unit, these sessions utilize music to facilitate movement, relaxation, breathwork, and yoga therapy.
