Professor of Creative Arts

The Technion is a leading science and technology research university, dedicated to the creation of knowledge and the development of human capital and leadership. It grants bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees in Sciences, Engineering, Science Education, Medicine and Architecture.
The Department of Humanities and Arts at the Technion focuses on History and Philosophy of Science, Engineering and Medicine, and fosters research that links the humanities with the sciences. The Department also promotes original artistic activity and offers full academic tenure-track positions for well-established artists, with an emphasis on interaction with the research community on campus.
Candidates are expected to:
– Continue their disciplinary artwork while also promoting inter- and transdisciplinary dialogue with the Technion faculty members.
– Generate new forms of knowledge and innovative projects.
– Develop practice-based artistic research in the context of the scientific laboratory.
– Have an impact on student and campus life.
– Expand the network and opportunities for teaching and research.
Candidates must have an excellent record of achievements in their artistic discipline. Having acquaintance with the academic setting and being able to communicate with scientists is required. Having a Ph.D. is an advantage. The position is Open Rank with a preference for senior candidates.
Interested candidates should submit a CV, a research statement (2-5 pages), a portfolio where relevant, and a teaching statement (2 pages). In addition, the names of two external references are required, from which recommendation letters may be requested by the committee head.
